Rescue Village launched the only pet food pantry in Geauga County in 2020 to combat food insecurity and to help people keep their pets through difficult times.
Rescue Village believes that tight financial times should not break the bonds of love and companionship between people and their companion animals. The community pet food pantry is to assist families who have fallen on hard times and are struggling to provide food for their pet.
Cat and dog food will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to anyone who expresses a need.
This pantry is donation-driven and cannot guarantee inventory of food brands.
*Proof of eligibility is not required.
For those that have applied to the Pet Food Pantry, please contact us by emailing info@rescuevillage.org or calling 440-338-4819 during open hours to find out if we have donated food prior to making your trip to the shelter and to make arrangements for pick-up.
This program is intended to TEMPORARILY supplement your monthly supply of pet food, not be the permanent sole source of food for your pets. We want to be able to help as many pets and their families as possible.
NOTE: Please do not bring your pets to Rescue Village. Items received through this program cannot be sold. This program is not meant to feed stray animals or feral cats. If you are a feral colony caretaker, please learn more about our TNR (Trap, Spay/Neuter, Return) Program.
While Rescue Village uses Purina and Pedigree brand dry food for our shelter animals, we accept donations of any brand for the Pet Food Pantry. Unfortunately, Rescue Village cannot accept or distribute canned food for the Pet Food Pantry. All donations can be dropped off at the donation cart at the front door any time of day or night.
See what the community is doing! Bronze Award Girl Scouts started a project encouraging donations to RV’s pet food pantry.
